What a rich experience sharing with painters, a poet, a filmmaker, textile artist, and others from Germany, Korea, the US, the UK, Costa Rica and Mexico. Eating together at night and raiding the fridge beyond breakfast and evening dinners, political discussions and visiting each other's studios, swimming in the Seine outside my window, playing the piano late at night which Cliff never minded, bicycling together into Nogent-sur-Seine, the nearest place to buy a cup of coffee and the town where Flaubert and Camille Claudelle had spent time. Losing each other while wandering the Sunday brocantes (flea markets) that rotated from village to village each Sunday and for which we had to be ready to leave at 8 AM! Enjoying Christine's cooking and large hanging abstracts, ferreting out art materials, schmoozing with Laetitia, Karine and Jean-Yves.
